Hossein Khosrojerdi

Hossein Khosrojerdi was born in 1957 in Tehran, Iran. He graduated with a diploma from the Tehran Boy’s Fine Arts School of Art in 1976. Followingly, Hossein was awarded BA in Fine Arts Faculty, from Tehran University in 1985.
The revolution changed the art scene in Iran dramatically, followed by 8 years of war. Hossein artworks also reflected subjects of war, peace, and soldiers.

In the next few years, the revolution brought another round of discrimination and oppression, Hossein’s work turned satiric and critical.
Forgotten Principles is the title of a series that best depicted his disappointment and criticism of the political environment at that time (1982-1999).

In 2000, Hossein’s artwork transformation prompted a unique series of digital media with mummies representing issues that humankind faces on a daily basis.
In 2009 after his immigration to the UK Hossein continued his work starting with a series of grey buildings with the yearning for a place to call home. His most recent work is a

collection of abstracts meticulously textured and composed (2010-present).
Hossein is the winner of numerous awards and juror of major art competitions in Iran and abroad.
His work has been exhibited in galleries and auction houses around the world.
He currently lives and works in London.
